In the past 10 years the Touchstone Energy® Camp has helped to keep more than 900 sixth grade students safe around electricity, while also enjoying outdoor camp activities. In 2012 Kosciusko REMC continues this tradition by sponsoring up to six local students to attend the 10th Anniversary Touchstone Energy Camp conducted June 6 to 9 at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana.
At the camp students enjoy traditional outdoor camp activities such as horseback riding, zip lining and swimming, while also receiving a lesson in safe electricity, a live line safety demonstration and bucket truck rides.
Applications for the 2012 Touchstone Energy Camp are available at the KREMC office at 370 South 250 East in Warsaw, Indiana, or can be downloaded by clicking the link below. Completed applications must be returned to KREMC by February 24, 2012. To be eligible, applicants must be current sixth grade students and dependents of KREMC members or employees.
The Touchstone Energy Camp program was developed by a committee of electric cooperative employees from around Indiana. It is funded in part by Hoosier Energy, Wabash Valley Power Association, Indiana’s Rural Electric Cooperatives, Indiana Statewide Association of REC’s, and local sponsors. :
