Play It Safe Family Safety Day
There’s nothing more fun than playing, and there’s nothing more important than safety! Put fun and safety together, and you have the makings for “Play It Safe Family Safety Day” an annual event sponsored by Kosciusko REMC and the Warsaw/Wayne Fire Territory.
Kosciusko REMC came onboard as a presenting sponsor of this event in 2008, and helped create this fun day of safety-related games, shows and activities, all offered free to visitors. More than 3,000 people attend the event every year.
Held annually in September at Warsaw’s Central Park and Pavilion, the event features activities ranging from bucket truck rides, law dog demonstrations, fire department zip lines, make-and-take first aid kits, safety shows, emergency vehicle displays, helicopter landings and take-offs, and much more. The event features safety tips and hints related to electricity, fire, water safety, first aid, train safety, health information, stranger danger, drug and alcohol abuse, and much more.
“Play it Safe Family Safety Day is a great collaborative effort between many community organizations and businesses,” said Kosciusko REMC President and CEO Steve Rhodes. “We can’t think of a better way to communicate these important safety messages to our community, and we have worked hard to make this event bigger and better every year. We hope our community comes out to support us and enjoy all the fun activities at Play It Safe Family Safety Day.”
