Operation Round Up FAQ

Q: Where and how will the funds be distributed?
Any individual or organization in Kosciusko REMC's service area is eligible to apply for a grant from the trust. Funds will not be used to pay utility bills or go towards political campaigns. Grant applications are due on the 15th of the following months: February, April, June, August, October and December.

Q: What are some possible uses for the fund?
Examples of grants would be funding for fire department equipment, EMS, youth & school groups, youth camps, fundraisers for an individual's medical needs, foundations, senior citizen groups and other various community programs and projects.

Q: If I have several accounts with Kosciusko REMC, will each one be rounded up?
Yes, any participation from our members is appreciated. However, if you'd like only one of your accounts rounded up, just let us know.

Q: Where do the funds go?
The funds will be awarded to nonprofit organizations in our service territory. Examples of past grant recipients include:

• Kosciusko Literacy Services
• Housing Opportunities of Warsaw
• Cardinal Center, Inc.
• Heartline Pregnancy Center
• Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept.
• Camp Alexander Mack
• Kosciusko County American Red Cross

A list of the funds disbursed will be featured periodically in the Electric Consumer. Until the funds are distributed, they will be held in a trust fund with the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.

Q: What if I can't or don't want to participate in this program?
Participation in Operation Round Up is strictly voluntary. If you would like to opt-out, please contact our office at 574.267.6331 or email us.
