Water Heater Rebate Program
Program Description:
The following rebates will be offered for water heaters:

Electric Water Heater Rebates:
• Electric to electric replacement rebate $ 75.00
• Gas to electric replacement rebate $125.00
• New construction water heater rebate $125.00
• Second water heater rebate $ 50.00 (see guidelines below)*
Note: There are no more "Free" water heaters in any situation.
Eligibility:
• Any residential member (farm and home rate) of Kosciusko REMC;
• Member must agree to future installation of a Load Management Switch, if warranted.
Effective 9.1.08, Kosciusko REMC will begin offering a rebate-only program for members who purchase 50 gallon or larger water heaters. Under this program, residential and farm members will need to use the following procedures:
1. Pick up a water heater program agreement from the co-op, or download the agreement by visiting www.kremc.com. Click on "Products & Services", and then click on "Rebates". Or, contact the co-op at (574) 267-6331.
2. A list of local vendors and recommended units is available at the co-op, or by visiting www.kremc.com, and clicking on "Products and Services", then click "Rebates."
3. Purchase a new 50-gallon or larger electric water heater at the vendor of choice. Note: Member must present a copy of the store receipt for purchase date verification when applying for a rebate. Also, member must apply for rebate and have the water heater inspected within six months of purchase.
4. Have the new water heater installed. Installation is the responsibility of the members. After installation, call the co-op at (574) 267-6331 to schedule an inspection.
5. After the inspection is completed and proof of purchase and eligibility has been verified, a billing credit will be issued on the member's next monthly statement.
Restrictions:
• One water heater rebate per household unless at least one of the following situations are present:
o Six or more people reside in the home
o The home contains more than 3,000 square feet of finished living space.
• KREMC is not responsible for any Parts: or service on rebate-only purchased units (see below for more details).
• Rebate units MUST be installed on KREMC lines only.
• No more than two water heater rebates will be paid to any one account (household).
• Sales receipt for unit(s) may not be more than six months old at time of KREMC inspection.
Procedure to Pay:
• Member purchases and installs water heater(s), submits rebate application and schedules inspection by KREMC personnel. After all inspections are completed and the rebate application and sales receipt has been approved a credit will be issued on the next available monthly statement.
